Hurricane Relief

With people across the nation donating supplies to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, an area relief effort is urging people not to head to the Gulf Coast on their own.

FEMA has asked the Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Emergency Management, and The United Way to establish a regional collection site.

Those with the relief effort say there are a number of health concerns and if you do volunteer it should be with a reputable agency.

For more information on how you can volunteer locally, you can call The United Way of Southern Kentucky at 843-3205.
