Bowling Green's park service hopes you won't notice, but the Russell Sims Aquatic Center will be back under old management next year.
The city turned over the day-to-day administration of the park to a private company from Atlanta this summer, hoping it would save taxpayers money and free up rec staff to work at other parks.
But the city commission tonight voted to discontinue the contract, and give the park back over to parks and rec officials next year.
"Had a great season with our lifeguards, just on the administrative end of it some things we've had to deal with over and over again. So we figured we could do it better ourselves next year," said Parks and Rec Director Ernie Gouvas.
Parks and rec officials say the park received perfect scores on its water quality tests this year, and they expect to keep up that level of service next year.
