The Kentucky Public Commission held a hearing Tuesday night in Bowling Green to receive public comment on a proposal by East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to build new power lines in our area.
EKPC is proposing to construct four segments of 161-kilovolt lines, totaling about 94 miles in Barren, Butler, Ohio and Warren counties.
About 47 new miles of line would be in new right-of-way.
While some residents feel new lines would be a great benefit to the area, others disagree saying the power lines will only downgrade their property.
The application and related documents are available on the PSC website: www.psc.ky.gov. The case number is 2005-00207.
