As a volunteer firefighter, Dave Turner has seen it all.
He says: "It's usually in the worst circumstances and in the worst type of environment."
After experiencing those types of conditions Dave says he wanted the opportunity to help the victims of Katrina.
When FEMA requested 1,000 two-man teams to help the survivors, Dave and fellow firefighter Chris Buchanon wanted to answer the call.
Dave says: "We found a way we can volunteer, get away from our families and our work situations, and go to the Gulf Coast and try to help."
As he helps families affected by the hurricane, Dave says he won't forget his support system back home in Warren County.
Dave and Chris will go to Atlanta for a briefing and training. After that they will be deployed to an area affected by Katrina.
