The mother of a Lexington teenager who died earlier this week nearly two months after a fight with a classmate at a prep school in Tennessee says she has forgiven the boy who hit her son.

Carmen Covert said on April 24 she holds no bitterness against the boy who assaulted her son Bobby during an intramural Wiffle Ball game at McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., on March 2.

Bobby Covert spent several days at a Tennessee hospital before returning to Kentucky.

Shortly after coming home he suffered the aneurysm and died of complications from the injury.

According to a statement from the Fayette County, Kentucky, coroner's office, an autopsy has determined that the aneurysm was related to the injury he sustained in the fight.

The statement says Covert was punched in the neck and then fell and struck his head during the fight, causing a brain injury.
