Some parents are taking some legal action of their own when it comes to their children's education.
A lawsuit listing Gov. Patton and the entire Kentucky Legislature as the defendants claims that the General Assembly failed to carry out its duty to properly fund public education when it failed to pass the state's budget.
The suit specifically names Patton, Senate President David Williams, and House Speaker Jody Richards as defendants.
However, an attorney for the Plaintiffs says that the suit is intended to be against the entire Legislature.
The Plaintiffs are from Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Russell, and Washington Couny school districts. Campbellsville Independent is also represented.
