Kentucky State Police are investigating after firefighters found a human body when they responded to a car fire.

The Jessamine County Fire Department responded to a call about a burning car about 8 p.m. on May 7.

Firefighters discovered the remains after extinguishing the blaze.

State Police said the identity of the victim wasn't immediately determined.

The body was sent to Frankfort for identification.
