The Kentucky State Police presented awards to outstanding troopers at its annual ceremony in Louisville.

Several were honored from our area.

From Post 2 in Madisonville Trooper William C. Braden II received the Citation for Bravery.

Derek A. Smith was named Post 2 Trooper of the Year.

From the Bowling Green Post, Trooper Joel Huff received the Citation for Bravery Award.

And named Trooper of the Year at their respective posts were:

Detective Scott Skaggs from Bowling Green.

Detective Jon Paul Taylor from Elizabethtown.

And Trooper Fredrick Cornett from Columbia.
