Add Glasgow to the list of Kentucky cities considering a smoking ban.
City Councilman Freddie Norris will introduce an ordinance this week that would prohibit smoking in public places and places of employment.
The ordinance would provide exceptions outdoor work areas, tobacco retail stores and designated smoking rooms in hotels.
Norris said support for the ban has grown in recent weeks and he was moved to propose the plan because of concerns about the effects of second-hand smoke on children.
16 cities across the state have smoking bans in place.
