Both lanes of traffic are now open on Interstate 75, after a deadly crash overnight in Rockcastle County.

The driver of a tractor trailer died after crashing into a pickup and sliding into an overpass.

Police are calling it a chain reaction.

Four vehicles, two separate accidents.

The first accident was a contributing factor to the second accident.

Police say a car clipped a van in the southbound lanes of I-75, sending the van spinning into the lanes of oncoming northbound traffic.

A tractor-trailer heading north rear-ended a pickup truck that stopped following the first accident.

The tractor trailer flipped and slid into a concrete bridge support.

It appears that due to the late hour and lack of lighting, it was hard to see the first accident.

The driver of the tractor trailer died at the scene.

His passenger and the driver of the pickup were rushed to the hospital.

The people involved in the first accident weren't hurt.

Police have just confirmed 48-year-old Tommy Kelley of London was behind the wheel of the tractor trailer involved in the crash.

While cleaning up the crash, traffic from both the north and southbound lanes of I-75 was diverted through Berea.
