Ripening strawberries may be the last thing we might think about during the dead of winter. However, an Edmonson County couple is enjoying the fruits of their labor.
David and Janet Dennsion began growing strawberries as an alternate crop to tobacco six years ago.
Although they've only enjoyed one profitable season thus far, they have learned much about what it takes to grow the fruit.
The couple say they check their crop everyday for pests, bad leaves, temperatures, and other elements that could impact their yield.
The Dennisons sell their crop locally, and they keep growing berries into the spring.
