Equestrian Rider Released from Hospital Following Accident Save Email Print

An equestrian rider who was seriously injured at the Rolex three-day event in Lexington was released from the hospital.

A University of Kentucky Hospital spokeswoman says 24-year-old Laine Ashker was released on May 13, two and a half weeks after suffering the injuries.

She had multiple broken ribs, a broken jaw, collapsed lungs as well as other injuries.

Ashker's horse fractured his skull and was euthanized, one of two that had to be euthanized during the event.
