Syndicated columnist and FOX News Channel host Oliver North visited Bowling Green May 14 as part of a signing tour for his new book.

The conservative political commentator and host of FNC's “War Stories” was on hand at Life Way Christian Bookstore in Greenwood Mall this afternoon.

Large crowds snaked through the store and out the door, patiently waiting to meet the author.

North's new book, American Heroes focuses on his first-hand coverage of U.S. troops serving in the Middle East.

"The average age of a youngster out there in the military is 20.5 years, and they're the finest Americans we've got in this generation. And they're grateful for the opportunity to tell their story, and that's what this is," said North.

American Heroes was released May 6 and North is currently traveling the country to promote the book, which is his 11th.

He has also hosted “War Stories” since 2001.
