A circuit judge in western Kentucky is complying with an Amish family's request that a driver who caused a fatal crash with a buggy not serve any jail time.

The crash in 2006 along U.S. 41A in Christian County killed a 2-year-old child riding in the buggy.

Circuit Judge John Atkins says he was troubled by the numerous speeding tickets the driver, Penelope Henry, had received in the past.

But he probated her five-year sentence for reckless homicide, meaning if she stays out of trouble in that time, she won't have to serve the sentence.

Henry told Atkins on May 13 that she received the speeding tickets before she was charged with the death of the young girl and since then she has changed.

That is so sad. I hope that girl really did learn her lesson. The Amish people are very forgiving. Slow down people!
