It was a reception fit for a "rock star" as former president, Bill Clinton was introduced to more than 500 people at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.
Clinton came to town to speak on his wife, Hillary's behalf as she tries to win Kentucky in next week's Presidential primary.
People came out early to see Clinton.
A line formed more than an hour and a half before Clinton was scheduled to speak to the crowd.
The line stretched around the from the school's front doors to the side of the building of anxious people waiting to hear what Clinton had to say.
Many in line said they believed Clinton's campaign is as strong as ever, despite opponent Barack Obama's recent endorsement from Sen. John Edwards, and wouldn't be shocked to see her win the nomination.
Members of the crowd also said they feel Hillary can lead the country to brighter days because that's what her husband did during his 2 terms in the 90's
"I just think he's done just as much or more for the country as any president we've ever had in my time and its exciting to talk to someone who's done so much for our country and i think she'll do the same thing," says Hillary supporter, Nancy Robey.
Clinton was about an hour late but when he arrived he held the audience's attention as he discussed topics ranging from health care, the current state of the military and the war, and finally the budget.
"if you elect her, she'll take this country back to a balanced budget and give these young people their futures back. Its the morally right thing to do, we have go to do it," said Clinton as he looked at several high schools students in the audience.
Spectators said afterward that Clinton's message said everything they expected and needed to hear.
"i think he's reaching the American people on what our real problems are and our real problem right now is the economy, " says Marilyn Pepper, a longtime Hillary supporter.
"I think he did a real good job explaining the economy and the steps needs to improve it," agrees Brandy Hardesty.
