Jenny Staples of Hart County Manor says the night shift workers compared the sound of the tornado coming to that of a train.
Despite the storm raging outside, workers rushed to get residents into the hallways away from doors.
The manor did sustain some minor damage, but Staples knows it escaped the worst of it.
The building lost a few shingles after a large tree uprooted behind the building and land on the roof.
It was later removed and replanted into the ground.
Staples also says residents of the home have been out cleaning up debris around the building and surveying the damaged city for themselves.
