People in Munfordville reported not hearing the sirens until after the tornado hit. That has the state looking into ways to improve the state's warning alert system.
According to Hart County's Judge Executive Terry Martin, the sirens did go off moments before the twister touched down. But citizens wouldn't have heard them if they weren't already outside since the sirens are only meant to be heard outdoors.
Gov. Fletcher says in last year's state budget millions of dollars were allotted to redo the state's warning systems.
