A death investigation that began 10 months ago has led to the arrest of two people in eastern Kentucky.
Kenny Wayne Collins was arrested Saturday by the Clay County Sheriff's Office. Kentucky State Police arrested 52-year-old Brenda Bolton of Manchester on Friday.
The 45-year-old Collins is charged with murder and unlawful drug transaction with a minor.
Bolton is charged with complicity to murder and unlawful transaction.
The investigation began when a 16-year-old girl was found dead in May 2012 at a home. The cause of her death was determined to be a drug overdose.
Clay County Coroner Danny Finley said deaths from overdoses have sharply declined in the county — from 22 in 2011 to 8 in 2012.
