SOMERSET, Ky. (AP) -- Two people have been injured in southeastern Kentucky when the small plane they were aboard crashed after takeoff.
WLEX-TV said the crash happened around 4 p.m. EDT in the Bronston community of Pulaski County near a private airport with a grass field. Witness Jeremy Thompson told the station the two men were able to walk up a hill to meet emergency responders.
Pulaski County officials said the men were airlifted to University of Kentucky Hospital. The extent of their injuries wasn't immediately known.
The station said the plane is registered in Tennessee.
The Commonwealth Journal said the crash happened after the airplane took off from Boss Airport off Jacksboro Road.
