2 Plead Not Guilty in Fatal Fire in Southwest KY

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -- Two men charged in a fatal house fire in the southwestern Kentucky town of Hazel have entered not guilty pleas.

39-year-old Hughron Payne and 43-year-old Royce D. Earnest entered the pleas Monday in Calloway Circuit Court in connection with a June 12 blaze that killed 32-year-old Patricia Bohne of Hazel.

A grand jury indicted Payne and Earnest on July 25 on charges of murder, arson and manufacturing methamphetamine.

Status hearings for both men were set for Sept. 23.
