2-Year-Old Dies After Being Backed Over By Mini-Van

VINE GROVE, Ky. (WBKO) – Kentucky State Police say on Tuesday at approximately 8:21 p.m. ET, troopers responded to 645 Stanley Allen Drive in the Vine Grove community of Meade County to investigate a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

Troopers say a 1998 Plymouth Voyager van was backing up to a residence to unload household items.

Unaware to the driver, Joseph Allison, 31, a two-year-old child had climbed into the back hatch entrance of the van.

KSP says as Allison continued to back up, the two-year-old, Brendyn Keisler, fell out of the back and was run over by the Voyager.

Brendyn sustained critical injuries to the head and neck and was flown to Kosair’s in Louisville with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

KSP says alcohol is not suspected to be a contributing factor.
