In the President's state of the union address the President high-lighted the need for homeland security. Ironically many of the men and women who protect our country here may soon be leaving.
Thousands of National Guardsmen and Army Reservists are being called to serve the country.. leaving their local law enforcement agencies short-staffed. This is all during a time when the President says Homeland Security shoudl be a priority.
According to the International Association of Fire Chiefs 75,000 firefighters may be called to the Middle-East to serve. Bowling Green the police department has already lost two officers and three more are waiting to be called. Kentucky State Police has two who have left and Russellville Police has one officer away.
