It's what everyone's talking about in the small city of Plum Springs.

"It's got me speechless personally.I cannot believe the mayor of such a wonderful community could be caught in such a horrendous act," said Tiffany Triplett, a shocked area resident.

"He knew he was wrong. If you do the crime, then you pay the time," added another resident, Eva Gibson.

On June 19, Plum Springs Mayor William S. Roberts was cited for allegedly soliciting an undercover Bowling Green police officer for prostitution.

According to police, Roberts offered the undercover officer 20.00 for oral sex right here at the 1200 block of Adams Street.

We tried to contact Roberts at his home.

But according to a resident inside, he wasn't there.

Reporter: "Do you know where he's at?"

Woman: "No."

Reporter: "We just wanna get his side of the story."

Woman: "No, no comment!"

Reporter: "No comment?"

Woman: "No..."

The woman does however say Roberts is not guilty.

Reporter: "Is he saying that he's innocent...that's all we want to know?"

Woman: "He's innocent...he's innocent."

Police say the conversation between William Roberts and the undercover officer was monitored and listened to.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Roberts is scheduled to be arraigned in court July 10.

Concerning your poll question, the politicians will be in Frankfort until they get the "extra" money they need. They are paid a yearly salary and should not be paid extra when the Governor calls them back because they wasted time and could not get the job done while there the first session.

this is too funny, to know what a person could do for a good time when you are in office. i just wonder how many more has been caught and told on or even better i wonder how many of these has been found innocent when they know they are quilty. quite funny. if i was innocent i wouldn't allow my photo all over the news. well at least it sound awhole lot cheaper than gas prices these days. my last comment it is a disgrace to women we are well worth more than $20.00 keep up the good work my lady officer, if they can cheat on there family they can afford awhole lot more than what you was offered

Perhaps Mr. Roberts could higher Eliot Spitzer to consult on his defense team. I hear the former NY Govener is looking for a job. Would seem suited for this.

It's pitiful that a Mayor has only and is only paid enough to offer that amount to and police officer who undoubtly is not paid that amount of as a hourly wage.. What a bunch of cheap-O- this would never happen in New York City.
