The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is asking for your Christmas tree.
Every year, the department accepts live trees to be dropped in area lakes like Barren River, Shanty Hollow, and the lake at Basil Griffin Park.
The number of people who actually have live Christmas trees seems to decline every year, but wildlife officials say every tree helps.
You can drop off your tree at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, 970 Bennett Lane on Western Kentucky University's farm off of Nashville Road.
Be sure the tree is free of ornaments and tinsel.
