When the terror level increased to the fourth highest level on Friday, the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport immediately began taking extra precautions.

Employees are paying extra attention to all access points, perimeters of the airport, and airport hangars to make sure only authorized personnel, pilots, and passengers enter the tarmac.

Employees also make sure all hangars are locked at all times. Airport Manager Robert Barnett says he has to implement certain federal directives when the alert level changes.

He also says the airport takes extra security measures that go above what is federally mandated.
