The accident happened around 3:00 Sunday afternoon in the Northbound lane on I-65.
According to officials, a Ford Explorer carrying three people was parked on the emergency shoulder of the road.
A tractor-trailer driven by 58-year-old Frank Johnson of Arkansas, left the road and hit the Explorer.
The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green. The driver of the Explorer, 24-year-old Laura Holder and her passenger, 25-year-old Damien Cone, both of Bowling Green,
were taken to the Greenview Regional Hospital.
The rear passenger in the Explorer, six-year-old Tysiana Holder, was pronounced dead at the scene.
