There is still no official word on the cause of the fire and the building was a total loss.
Officials say there were no fatalities or injuries reported.
Shortly after 2 P.M. bank employees say they heard a loud noise coming from the lobby area.
They also say that's when they noticed one of the ceiling light fixtures went out and starting steaming.
Employees called 9-1-1 and were safely evacuated.
A nearby day care was also safely evacuated.
Bank officials say they have plans to temporarily operate from a building behind the bank until they can re-build this one.
They are not sure whether or not the vaults were closed before they evacuated the building but say they are confident that the Bank's assets are fully insured.
United Southern Bank customers can access other branches for immediate service.
