Nearly two months after auditors stumbled across unclaimed ashes inside Memorial Funeral Home, Logan County Coroner Jackie Dunlap is still trying to figure out who they belong to.
Dunlap says no one has come forward to claim them and the state medical examiner is unable to identify them.
Memorial Funeral Home was shut down after the bank foreclosed on owner Tim Hanna's property. Dunlap says Hanna claims the cremains could belong to at least four different families, but all of those relatives told authorities they are convinced they buried the correct cremains.
Anyone with information should contact Jackie Dunlap by calling the Emergency Operations Center at (270) 726-4911.
