Two of our four area state representative seats will be contested in this year's race and eight people will vie for seats on Bowling Green's City Commission.
Campaigning for the 21st district seat will be incumbent Jim Decesare against Democrat Malcolm Ray Cherry, who just filed to run against Decesare today.
In the 23rd district, Democrat Johnny W. Bell will try to unseat Republican Steve Nunn.
The race for Warren County Judge-Executive will be between incumbent Republican Mike Buchanon and Democrat challenger Harold Brantley of Bowling Green.
In the Bowling Green City Commission race, incumbent members Brian Strow, Delane Simpson, and Brian "Slim" Nash will seek re-election against newcomers Donna Renaud, Bruce Wilkerson, Joe Denning, Mark Bradford, and Edmond Schwab, Jr.
With only eight candidates running for a seat, the City Commission will not have a May primary.
Primaries take place May 16 with the general election to be held November 7.
