Richardsville Elementary walks for Diabetes

FOR STUDENTS AND FACULTY AT RICHARDSVILLE ELEMENTARY...TAKING A STEP TOWARD THE FIGHT AGAINST DIABETES IS ONLY NATURAL.
THREE STUDENTS HERE HAVE THE DISEASE AND THE SCHOOL CONTINUES TO RALLY AROUND THEM.
SINCE BRITTNEY WAS DIAGNOSED IN KINDERGARTEN FOUR YEARS AGO......TEN YEAR OLD AUSTIN AND FIVE YEAR OLD DILLON HAVE JOINED HER IN THE DAILY BATTLE OF SHOTS OF MONITORING EVERYTHING THEY EAT....
BUT THEY ALL HAVE TAKEN THEIR ILLNESS IN STRIDE.
THEY SAY THE SUPPORT OF THEIR FRIENDS GETS THEM THROUGH.
AND THAT SUPPORT IS NOW SHOWING ITSELF FINANCIALLY.
THE SCHOOL WALK RAISED MORE THAN THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION.
AND FOR PEOPLE LIKE BRITTANY GREEN'S PARENTS...IT'S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS WE CAN DO TO HELP.
FAMILY RESOURCE COORDINATOR CASEY STEELE SAYS THE SCHOOL MORE THAN TRIPLED IT'S GOAL OF RAISING ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
THE WALK WENT FROM THE SCHOOL TO THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND BACK.
THEY HOPE TO MAKE THE DIABETES WALK AN ANNUAL EVENT.
