Thirty National Guardsmen from Glasgow left for Fort Campbell this morning and they took some special care-packages with them. Students at LeGrande Elementary in Hart County are gathering supplies for soldiers, hoping to show their support for the men and women serving our country.
About 40 students from grades 4 through 7 are organizing a variety of toiletries to give to soldiers serving our country in the Middle East. The group of students are part of the Y Club, a service program sponsored by the Y.M.C.A., where students arrange four different community service projects throughout the year. Diane Froedge, the Y Club faculty sponsor, says so far the students have really enjoyed the project, brining in more than enough materials to donate.
