In preparation for the Fourth of July, one Bowling Green neighborhood is showing its appreciation in a unique way.

The Hunters Crossing Neighborhood Association is placing more than 2,000 flags throughout the neighborhood.

Homes throughout the subdivision will have the red, white and blue flags placed in front of their yards.

This is the third year for the display

It's a tradition many look forward to.

"People are very excited. Not only are the people that live in the neighborhood excited about it, but I have people who know I live in this neighborhood ask me when the flags are going to be up. They just enjoy driving through and taking a look at them," said Tina Whitehouse, resident.

The project is a fundraiser for the neighborhood association.

The flags will be on display starting July 3 through Sunday.
