Just eight days are left for your chance at the Saint Jude Dream Home and possibly free gas and groceries.

The home is in the September Lakes Subdivision in Alvaton.

Money made from ticket sales will benefit Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

More than 1,200 tickets have been sold so far with a goal of 7,500 tickets.

The house is valued at more than $400,000 and tickets are $100.00 each.

If you purchase your ticket by Friday, July 11 you're automatically registered in the drawing for a year's worth of gas and groceries courtesy of Houchens/IGA.

Tickets can be purchased at:

* Glasgow
* Morgantown
* Smiths Grove
* Cave City
* Scottsville
* Lewisburg
* Hancock Fabrics in Bowling Green

Does anyone know how many tickets have been sold as of Sept 1? Hopefully, they have reached their goal as it such a wonderful cause. Good luck to everyone.

As a former patient of St. Judes I would like to tell everyone what a wonderful place it is and how proud they should be to support it. There's no doubt in my mind that St. Jude's saved my life and countless others. I hope that the goal is reached and then some.

This is an absolutely wonderful opportunity to help these children, who are part of our future! I do wonder, however, how long it takes to receive the actual ticket? We purchased on July 11 at Hancock Fabrics and told the ticket would be mailed to us. It is now 14 days later, and our ticket sadly has not arrived yet.
