A Somerset facility for the mentally handicapped is in trouble again.
The state issued another citation to the Communities at Oakwood this week after a resident with bipolar disorder kicked another resident in the stomach.
The injured resident had to undergo emergency surgery to repair internal bleeding.
According to the citation, professional staff failed to change the client's behavior after it had gone on for nearly three months.
The citation was the 15th against the home since January 2005.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid pulled funding from Oakwood last fall, citing deteriorating conditions at the home.
However, the federal agency agreed to continue funding the troubled facility until its appeal was completed.
