The people of Butler County have a lot to celebrate this 4th of July.

They show it every year by throwing a "Catfish Festival."

"Hot Catfish!"

That's been Lester Gleason's battle-cry for the past 7 years.

Gleason and his brothers in the Cassia Lodge 272 cook up catfish every single year.

"We're cooking catfish, french fries, hush puppies and putting out a nice portion of slaw," says Gleason.

But it might just be Gleason's unusual voice that's drawing the customers.

"Well the guys kind of picked me because of my voice, they like to hear me holler, they thought it was a good draw card," admits Gleason.

But the festival isn't only about fish.

It has rides, games and items for people to buy.

"We came out here tonight just to have some good family fun and let my kids ride the rides," says Butler County resident Jeremy Ford.

This 4-day festival is also a major boost to the county's economy.

"This is the big fundraiser. This is what supports the Chamber of Commerce here in Morgantown-Butler County," says Morgantown mayor Eva Hawes.

"Its a great thing for butler county to have because Morgantown's not booming too much anymore so this will bring in more revenue and everything in for people here in Morgantown," adds Ford.

Not only are Gleason and his lodge raising money, they're having a good time.

"The fun part is the fellowship. We all get together every year and work and its good fellowship," notes Gleason.

So if you attend the festival, you'll probably hear Gleason before you see him.

"Hot catfish!", Gleason exclaims.

The festival was scheduled to have fireworks Friday night, but rain washed it out.

So the festival will conclude Saturday night with a full fireworks show.
