Louisville police say a man has been fatally struck by a train.

Police spokesman Phil Russell said the man was spotted sitting on the railroad tracks near Frankfort Avenue and Cornell Place prior to the incident Friday night. His identity has not been released.

Russell said police are continuing to investigate, and it's too soon to know whether the death was accidental or intentional.

A toxicology test will be performed on the body.
