The local 9-1-1 service does not have the technology to identify the location of cell phone calls.
Bowling Green Police do have the ability to obtain a call back number from a cell phone call.
Officer Tom Forte says the technology to locate cell phone calls should be up and running in a year but callers still need a phone that works with global positioning software.
