Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides handmade blankets and afghans to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or are in need.
Once made, the blankets and afghans are sent to an inspector who then gives them an official Project Linus tag.
Kiley Shuffett, of Greensburg, Kentucky attends Green County High School and is a blanketeer for Project Linus, meaning that she helps make blankets for this organization.
"It makes kids feel like they're important and that they're loved, especially coming from a teenager. I know it can mean that much more if a kid feels comfortable and secure", says Shuffett.
There are five chapters in the state for Project Linus, but none in our area.
If you are interested in making a blanket for this cause, or would like to help start a chapter in your town, log onto www.projectlinus.org for more information.
