Man Rescued After Falling Under Old Louisville Rd. Bridge


"He fell approximately 25 to 30 feet.  He did not go into the water.  We set up a haul system with ropes and our stokes basket and were able to go down and get him out with the help of EMS," said Bowling Green Fire Department Public Information Officer Marlee Boenig.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Officials from the Bowling Green Fire Department say they responded to a call that a man was injured after falling under the Old Louisville Rd. bridge in Bowling Green. It happened just before 11a.m. Tuesday. Fire officials say the man was not in the river, but was walking under the bridge and fell onto the bluff below.

"He fell approximately 25 to 30 feet. He did not go into the water. We set up a haul system with ropes and our stokes basket and were able to go down and get him out with the help of EMS," said Bowling Green Fire Department Public Information Officer Marlee Boenig.

The man, who is not being identified at this time, was injured and sent to the medical center for treatment. The extent of the injuries are unknown.
