The Pre-Trial Conference for a case involving the Todd County Sheriff and a Logan County Resident was held Tuesday.
Back in March, Sheriff Billy Stokes pleaded not guilty in Logan County District Court to three misdemeanor charges.
The charges stem from a dispute on March 22, in which Stokes is accused of illegally parking in a handicapped spot and reportedly threatening Logan County resident Daniel Draper with a stun gun.
Stokes says, he was parked in front of a store and was waiting for his wife, but was not in a handicapped spot.
A Pre-Trial Conference is meant to determine what issues will be brought up at trial.
"This just alerts the court to any potential problems that may come up, it alerts the court to any areas where we may have a legal disagreement with the defense in terms of what sort of evidence is admissible," said Assistant Logan County Attorney Stephen Kenney.
Billy Stokes' Attorney, David Broderick says, "A standard procedure, a formality of the court to determine what issues will take place at trial."
One of those issues discussed was about evidence, like the 911 tape.
Broderick says, they're hoping to have a copy of that tape for the trial which is set to begin on August 26.
