The Kentucky State Police kicked off its 60th anniversary celebration on July 8 by going retro!

Troopers unveiled 17 limited edition police cruisers at KSP headquarters in Frankfort.

Each one is marked with the same color scheme and decals used in 1948.

Troopers say they're also marking the 60th anniversary by reflecting on the work the agency has done.

"As we unveil these retro cruisers today it is a reminder of the sacrifices of those who served before us and layed the foundation for the great agency that we are all a part of today," said Rodney Brewer, KSP commissioner.

Each Kentucky State Police post will have one of the limited edition cruisers.

Jamestown, KY 911 director steps down after Going to be taken over by Russell CO ems Director Mark Coots. Long time dispatch supervisor Sheila McGaha was the that had got the 911 center up to what it is today. Mark Coots told some people he was sent by GOD to help the 911 center and take it under his wing. I was told several of the dispatcher in Russell Co are walking out after the county Judges dission to let Coots take over. The personel at the ambulance service are worried as they are going to lose benifits as Coots tries to run dispatch out of the ambulance service money. One emt that works there has all ready said Coots said money was tight and he had not even taken over the 911 center. Coots built a new ems building where dispatch is now with out even tring to get grants witch there all kinds out there after 9-11. So Russell CO is unsure what will happen to it 911 sevices. The WJRS 104.9 web site has a small story but they where not told every thing. PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS!!!!!!!!
