GOVERNOR FLETCHER REMAINS HOSPITALIZED TONIGHT...BUT HIS SPOKESWOMAN SAYS HE IS RESTING AND EATING SOLID FOODS.
DOCTORS SAY THEY'VE REMOVED MORE THAN 95 PERCENT OF THE BLOOD CLOT IN THE GOVERNORS ARM. AND THAT THEY WILL PUT HIM ON BLOOD THINNER FOR THE NEXT THREE TO SIX MONTHS. FLETCHER WAS RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL... ONLY LAST WEEK... AFTER AN 18-DAY STAY...DURING WHICH HE HAD HIS GALLBLADDER REMOVED. HE WAS LATER DIAGNOSED WITH PANCREATITIS AND A BLOOD INFECTION. SPOKESWOMAN JODI WHITAKER SAYS FLETCHER REMAINS IN GOOD SPIRITS. AND...THAT THE GOVERNOR COULD RETURN HOME SUNDAY...BUT IT IS LIKELY HE WILL HEAD BACK TO FRANKFORT. WHITAKER SAID PRESIDENT BUSH CALLED FLETCHER TODAY TO WISH HIM A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
