THE SPEAKER OF KENTUCKY'S HOUSE IS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE STATE BUDGET. JODY RICHARDS SAYS THE BUDGET APPROVED BY THE DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED HOUSE LAST WEEK...WILL PROBABLY UNDERGO SOME CHANGES IN THE REPUBLICAN-DOMINATED SENATE.
BUT...RICHARDS SAYS THAT IT'S JUST PART OF THE PROCESS.
HE ALSO SAID THAT THE BI-PARTISAN SPIRIT THAT PRODUCED A BUDGET...ALSO EXTENDS TO SEVERAL ISSUES PENDING IN THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION...ONE BEING A POSSIBLE SITE FOR A NEW ARENA IN LOUISVILLE. THE SPEAKER SAYS LEGISLATORS ARE OBLIGATED TO NOT WASTE MONEY AND THAT CONCEPT WAS THE MAIN FACTOR IN THE DECISION TO RECOMMEND A DIFFERENT SITE FOR THE ARENA.
