A former teacher who fled the country with a 14-year-old boy will not see a reduction in her bond.
Angela Comer's attorney had asked Monroe County Circuit Judge Eddie Lovelace to reduce her $87,500 cash bond.
Comer is facing charges of unlawful transaction with a minor, sodomy, and custodial interference.
She has been in jail since her arrest in January after running off with her former student to Mexico.
Her attorney Johnny Bell argued that her bond was too high for the charges and produced documents during her bond hearing stating she had cancer.
Commonwealth Attorney Clay Hundley argued that Comer was a flight risk.
Judge Lovelace ruled on Friday that he would not grant a bond reduction.
