Warren Central Heads to the State Tourney

It was a sea of navy and white, limos, and around a thousand students outside of Warren Central High as the basketball team left for their fifth consecutive state tournament.

The team won the title two years ago and was first runner-up last year.

This year the school sent the players off with a large outdoor pep rally.

Head Coach, Tim Riley says: "The five in a row is the most of any team in the history of the 4th region and it's only two years off from the best that's ever happened in the state of Kentucky."

As the team makes regional history, Coach Riley says two of the players will make state history.

Quinten Curry and Jeremy Anderson will each play in their fourth state tournament this year. Coach Riley says: "They will become the 14th and 15th players to play in four sweet 16's, so it's a remarkable record."

As the players score another trip to Rupp Arena they have a philosophy, take it one game at a time.

The dragons will match up against Mason County on March 16 in Rupp Arena at 11:00 Central Time.
