101st Soldiers Killed in Iraq

The Army says six soldiers from the Fort Campbell-based 101st Airborne division have died this week in Iraq.

Private Angelo A. Zawaydeh died on Tuesday in a mortar attack in Baghdad.

Two other soldiers died on Monday when they came under small arms fire and an explosive device went off. They were 27-year-old Staff Sergeant Marco Silva of Florida and 22-year-old Sergeant Corey Dan of Maine.

A fourth soldier was killed Thursday while manning an observation post following a helicopter-borne operation north of Baghdad.

Two other soldiers were killed in Tikrit in an indirect fire incident.

The army will not release the names of the soldiers until their families have been notified.
