A minister's wife and children are sought after a murder in Tennessee.
Kentucky State Police have been notified to be on the alert for a car sought in connection with an unusual murder and disappearance in Tennessee.
Police say church members in Selmer went looking for Minister Matthew Winkler last night when he failed to show up for the worship service. They found the 31-year-old shot dead in a bedroom of the parsonage. His wife and three young daughters were gone.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued an alert for the Winklers’ little girls, ages one, six and eight. The alert says the girls may be with their mother, Mary.
Police say they could be in the family van, which is a gray 2006 Toyota Sienna with Tennessee license plates NDX288.
The police chief, who calls the case puzzling, says investigators don't know whether any one else is involved. He says Mary Winkler is a substitute teacher who was working at the town's elementary school on Tuesday.
Motorists spotting the van or anyone with information should call 1-800-TBI-FIND. Selmer is about 80 miles east of Memphis.
