Senator John McCain has reached out to African-American voters.
The Republican Presidential candidate laid out his educational plan at the NAACP's annual convention in Cincinnati on July 16.
McCain says it's time for a new approach, and is pledging to expand educational opportunities for children in failing schools.
"If I am elected President, school choice for all who want it, an expansion of opportunity scholarships and alternative certification for teachers will be part of a serious agenda of education reform," declared McCain.
McCain also pointed out that education has long been a priority for the NAACP because of the problems black children have faced in the nation's public schools.
