It was a special day at GM's Bowling Green Assembly Plant on July 21.

The first new Corvette ZR1 rolled off the line this afternoon.

General Motors unveiled its newest, and fastest, Corvette in a special media event.

The proud owner of this automobile, Dave Ressler, also owns the Oldest Corvette in the world, a 1953 model.

The price tag for a new ZR1 is just over $100,000.

The price for the first ZR1 off the line however, is a little bit more.

"It was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson Auto Auctions earlier in the year and went for a million dollars," said GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant Manager, Paul Graham.

"The gentleman who bought it, Mr. Dave Ressler, is here today to accept delivery of that car, here at Bowling Green Assembly."

This unique Corvette, the first ZR1 for commercial sale, has a one-of-a-kind VIN series and blue paint color.

The profit raised by the sale of the car was donated to the United Way.
