President Bush has marked Colombian Independence Day with a speech at the White House.

Standing between American and Colombian flags, he talked about the lasting friendship between the two countries.

He also joked about what may be one of Colombia's biggest contributions to America.

"Colombia and the United States have a long history of close ties," said the President.

"As many of you know Colombia supports America's primary source of energy, a resource that many Americans use, and we thank you for your coffee.

Colombia's Independence Day was Sunday.
